Here's a quick 5 tips that can make you go from looking like a facebook hack to a facebook mack in no time!
Check out these 5 facebook tips!
How To Change Your Facebook Page Username:
Do you have a Facebook fanpage for your business? Does your current Facebook URL look something like this: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Personal-Training-Business/355483108306?
Wouldn't it look better if you could direct people to your page if it was just facebook.com/personaltrainingbusiness?
Well there is a way and while some of you may know about it and have changed your URL to the latter, for those who haven't; simply log into facebook and go to this URL
Http://facebook.com/username.
When you get there it allows you to select which page (if you have multiples) from a drop down box and then type what you want the URL to be.
How To Post A YouTube Video On Facebook:
I still see people posting long ugly URLs on their walls of YouTube videos that they want to share and it just looks a hot mess.
To share a YouTube Video on Facebook, the principle is the same whether it's a personal profile or business page:
- Simply go to the video on YouTube you want to post on your wall
- Click the Share button under the video
- This will provide you with a shortened URL of the video - don't bother with the long one in the browser.
- Left click/copy the shortened 'highlighted' address
- Go to the Facebook page you want to post it on and select 'Link' in your share options.
- Paste the URL there
Also; before you hit Share on your facebook page, you can edit the text of the video just by highlighting it with your cursor.
If a video is titled "Big Dave Teaches You How To Swing A Kettlebell And Get Ripped For Summer Dayze" and you would prefer it to just be "How To Use A Kettlebell", you can easily change that.
How To Shorten A URL (This Is Particularly Important For The Next Tip):
Let's say you want to show someone an article you stumbled upon in a comment; nothing looks worse than a long drawn out URL filling up space in all it's blue glory.
There are quite a few URL shorteners out there, but one I regularly use is https://bitly.com. It's free and very easy to use.
Simply Right-Click Copy the URL of the page that you want to share and paste it where it says 'Shorten Links Here'. Hit 'Shorten' and voila, you have yourself a neat little URL to past all around the place.
This service is also great for Twitter where character count is vital.
How To Add A URL To A Comment:
Now that you have your awesome article in a neat little URL you want to post it into a comment stream, all you have to do is write the text you want, like "Read this!" Then hit the space bar, paste your link in the comment section and then space bar again.
If you don't have a space between the text and the URL and then another at the end, the link will just disappear when you hit [enter].
Add Your Website Or Blog URL To Your Facebook Images:
Every image you post on facebook that remotely refers to your business should have your URL under it.
Search engines are now taking serious notice of social media accounts so every opportunity to highlight your site to not only the people looking at the image, but engines like Google is imperative.
It's VERY simple to do. Once you have uploaded your image to your facebook profile or album, click the small pencil icon under the image. Type in your website URL using the full address e.g. www.mybusinessisfitness.com and once you hit save it will become a live, clickable link.
It's also interesting to mention that if you have ever posted an image on facebook and then noticed a spelling mistake or there was something you wanted to add to your description later, you can also edit that here by clicking that pencil icon.
If you enjoyed this article, please share it on facebook and twitter by clicking the icons at the top of the post and enter your email address below and click "Sign Me Up" to get free updates!
