How To Increase Your Personal Training Income With Outsourcing

Outsourcing business services in the global economy is now a massive and generally accepted practice.

The principle is to essentially offload activities that are time consuming and expensive, or activities that you don't physically have the resources to manage yourself to others that have the time or it is a financially viable business decision.

In Personal training, there are only so many hours in the day, so many clients you can train in a week and therefore only so much income an individual can generate.

Look at it this way:

If you train 30 clients a week at $50.00/session, having no holidays or weeks off, you can make a total of around $80,000 GROSS per year.

Granted that is a reasonable salary, however, I would like to think that a lifetime of work and knowledge would be worth AT LEAST a six figure income, not to mention, this is a perfect situation I've described and it is extremely rare and unfortunately most personal trainers are struggling to make half of that.

The most successful personal trainers I know outsource a percentage of their personal training service and responsibilities.

There are hundreds if not thousands of personal trainers out there that are terrible business people and for the life of them cannot increase their client base and subsequently, their income.

If you are a competent in marketing and sales you can expect to generate a very large client base, however you may not have the time or resources to actually train them.

Hiring or sub contracting your own trainers is a very popular method to combat this situation. It would have to be a dream for most trainers to be in a position to turn clients down, however why not take advantage of this situation and employ promising newly accredited personal trainers to handle your general population clients?

Another avenue some personal trainers are taking, is to incorporate a referral program and acquire a 'finders fee' for essentially selling their clients to other trainers that may not be as business savvy or experienced as yourself.

You would have to decide on a fee and obviously advise your clients whom they will be training with. You could go so far as to incorporate a brokerage type of facility into your business plan and develop a very successful and profitable network of client referrals.

What it comes down to at the end of the day is your marketing and promotional innovation and sales ability to get business. I recommend personal trainers spend more time developing these skills, because without clients you're neither helping anyone achieve their fitness goals, nor earning a living.

Good luck!
